Shawna Albornoz, MTI, TEP, EPC

Shawna Albornoz is the Vice President of Trust Services (Prairies) with BMO Trust Company, the fiduciary arm of the BMO Financial Group. Shawna has been in the Estate and Trust Industry since 2001 and she has administered over 120 Estate, Trust, Power of Attorney and charitable foundation accounts during her career. Through her experience as a corporate Executor and Trustee for high net worth clients she has acquired the expertise to help families effectively plan for the transfer of wealth to the next generation and deal with all fiduciary responsibilities. Shawna holds her MTI designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, she is a member of The Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP), an international professional organization dedicated to promoting financial and estate planning considerations between generations, and is a member of the Calgary Estate Planning Council (EPC).

Prior to joining Canada Protection Plan, Michael spent the last 15 years at a large Canadian Insurance company working in various roles including Regional Vice President, Wealth Management and Insurance where he lead national teams of Regional Sales Directors who constantly exceeded their objectives under his leadership.
Michael obtained his MBA from the University of Windsor and his BA from York University.

Michael lives in Toronto with his wife and two children and spends his free time snowboarding, cycling and working with the youth in his church.

Caroline A. Banks, APFS, Chartered Financial Planner, of London's West End, is the Million Dollar Round Table’s (MDRT) President and a 26-year MDRT member, with 21 Top of the Table honors.

Banks aims to share the benefits of MDRT with advisors worldwide. Through her travels, she works to promote ethical financial practices, increased standards and industry improvements. Tony has been an insurance professional for over 20 years. As a Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) qualifier in his first year, Tony proved that a deep care for his clients and a thorough planning process were the right ingredients for success as a financial planner.

Management came calling quickly and Tony became one of the most sought after sales managers in Canada. An excellent trainer and relationship builder, he has directly crafted the careers of many of the top life insurance planners in the lower mainland area of British Columbia.

With the industry move to independent distribution in the year 2000, Tony spearheaded the formation of Complete Brokerage Services Inc., a boutique Managing General Agency which is Canada's only independent training ground for new insurance planners. As President, Tony drove the CBS vision of realigning financial expenditures with core values to ensure that planners have the right tools to bring this message to their clientele. In March 2013 CBS Merged with HUB Financial and Tony became the EVP of Broker development with the mandate of bring this value proposition to the HUB advisor base.

Tony is a board member of International China Concern where he gives his time to ensure that Chinese abandoned disabled children have a shot at a brighter future. He currently is a board member of GAMA international and a former board member of CAILBA as well as a 24 year member of Advocis. Tony's hobbies include hockey and water skiing. He lives in Vancouver BC.

Corry Collins, RHU, CLU, Ch.F.C., CFP

Corry Collins CLU CHFC CHS started in the insurance business at age 24 in 1986. He is a Life and Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table and his practice is centered largely around Disability Insurance and physicians. Corry is a partner with Maritime Wealth in Halifax where 8 advisors call home. As a speaker, Corry has been the Emcee for both Top of the Table and the World Critical Illness Insurance Conference on several occasions. He has spoken at MDRT on three occasions and has spoken in 10 countries including Vietnam and Singapore and Lebanon. He has authored two books, “Life Support” and “101 Thoughts Quotes and Questions”. Corry and his wife Sue are avid motorcycle enthusiasts.

Caron Czorny

Caron is currently the Vice President, Business Development at BMO Life Assurance Co. Prior to joining BMO Insurance, Caron was the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of PEAK Insurance Services, an MGA with Head Office in Montreal. Her achievements there included founding a new company (AgenZ Group) with 2 other MGAs as the back office solution.

Caron’s previous positions include that of Senior VP, National Sales and Marketing with Hooper-Holmes Canada Ltd., Senior VP, Marketing & Sales with Equinox Financial Group and President of ReMark Canada Inc., a global insurance direct marketing firm. Before a brief stint at Imperial Life as VP, Sales, she moved up the ranks at Westbury Life (now RBC Insurance) over 10 years from Sales Manager to VP, Product Research and Market Development. Starting her career at Commercial Union Life Insurance Company as an underwriter, she had roles of increasing responsibility from that of Senior Underwriter to Life Marketing Manager.

Fluently bilingual, in English and French, well known and proud to be involved in our industry, she is currently Vice Chair of Advocis and Past Chair of The Institute for Advanced Financial Education ("The Institute"). Caron has recently completed a Certificate in Gerontology at Ryerson University.

She has also been President of the ACGSF (Quebec MGA association) and was named President of CAILBA in 2008. Other achievements include being a member of the Board of Directors of GeniSystems from 2002 until its sale in 2005 and Chair, Finance Committee of the Canadian Marketing Association from 1999-2000.

Her community involvement includes municipal politics, since she was an elected Councillor for District 5 of Wentworth-Nord, Quebec from 2005 – 2009.

Jamie Golombek is Managing Director, Tax & Estate Planning with CIBC in Toronto. As a member of the CIBC Wealth Advisory Team, Jamie works closely with advisors from across CIBC to support their high net worth clients and deliver integrated financial planning and strong advisory solutions. He joined the firm in 2008 after 12 years with a global investment company, where he was involved in both internal and external consulting on all areas of taxation and estate planning.

Jamie is quoted frequently in the national media as an expert on taxation, writes a weekly column called “Tax Expert” in the National Post, has appeared as a guest on BNN, CTV News, and The National and was a regular personal finance guest on The Marilyn Denis Show.

Jamie has also worked for Deloitte’s as a tax specialist in the Toronto office, where he specialized in both personal and corporate tax planning. He received his B.Com. from McGill University, earned his CA designation in Ontario and qualified as a U.S. CPA in Illinois. He has also obtained his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) and Chartered Life Underwriting (CLU) designations.

Jamie is a recipient of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario’s Award of Distinction, which honours those CAs who have made an early impact, bringing distinction to themselves and to their profession through leadership and achievement in their professional, community and/or personal lives.

Jamie is a past chair of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada’s Tax Working Group as well as a member of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, the Estate Planning Council of Toronto, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

In his spare time, Jamie teaches an MBA course in Personal Finance at the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto.

Dean has been a member of Advocis since 1990. He obtained his Chartered Life Underwriters designation in 1999 and his Chartered Financial Consultant designation in 2000. He has served at the local level since 1991, including President of the Saskatoon Chapter in 1997. Dean was one of the original members of the Chapter Advisory Council representing Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Dean also sat as a trustee for the CLU Institute from 2004 to 2007. Dean has sat on the TFAAC Board of Directors from 2007 until this past June, and sat as Chair of the TFAAC Board in 2012.

Dean graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1990 with a Bachelor of Commerce and immediately entered the financial planning profession. He joined Cherry Financial Services in 1998,. He held the position of Chair of the Saskatchewan Life Insurance Council and was a member of the council from 2002 to 2010. Dean is currently the assistant coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskie Women’s Hockey team, and volunteers his time holding goaltending clinics for all minor hockey age levels in Saskatoon.
